Introduction
Our company has developed and manufactured
a series of hollow grained covering powder products combining with production
demands of various types of steel to meet the continuous casting process.
Covering powder (or covering flux/powder, protective agent) are classified as
high-carbon, medium carbon, low carbon and carbon-free by the content of
carbon. In addition, it can be divided into alkalinity product ,acid product
and high alkalinity by PH value.
Covering powder has good diffusion effect and strong thermal insulation
performance without crusting and polluting molten steel, which is well received
by clients. The choice of covering agent as per specific steel making
conditions.
The function of covering powder:
(1) It plays the important role in good
heat preservation.
(2) Absorbing inclusions and purifying molten steel.
(3) Preventing secondary oxidation of molten steel effectively.
Characteristics of covering powder
Low carbon cover powder |
Applicable steel: carbon content in molten steel C≤0.08 Good diffusion effect, no congeal, purifying molten steel, prevent molten steel from secondary oxidation. Eliminate the potential carbon pick-up. |
Medium carbon cover powder |
Applicable steel: carbon content in molten steel C≤0.25 Good diffusion effect, no congeal, purifying molten steel, prevent molten steel from secondary oxidation. Good heat preservation. |
High carbon cover powder |
Applicable steel: carbon content in molten steel C≥0.45 Good diffusion effect, no congeal, purifying molten steel, prevent molten steel from secondary oxidation. Good heat preservation. |
Carbon free cover powder |
Applicable steel: ultra low carbon steel Good diffusion effect, no congeal, purifying molten steel, prevent molten steel from secondary oxidation., control carbon pick-up |
High alkalinity cover powder |
Applicable steel: suitable for steels with no special requirements for Al2O3 content. Strong adsorption capacity, Good diffusion effect, no congeal, purifying molten steel, prevent molten steel from secondary oxidation. |
